Gather with friends, family and up to two dogs per stay at Knotty in the Kitchen, which is conveniently located in the heart of East Beach near Middleton Park. Listen to outdoor summer concerts on Fridays as you watch the waves from the double level covered oceanfront porches, snuggle up together in the living room to stream a favorite movie or simply enjoy the experience of stepping out of your back door and right into the sand as you head to the beach for the day. Featuring an elevator for those with mobility concerns and a reverse floor plan that offers amazing views from the common areas, there’s no better backdrop for building memories to last a lifetime.

Gaze over the Atlantic from the open-concept living room, or plop down on the generous collection of overstuffed sofas and chairs to stream the big game or your nightly shows on the TV. Can’t agree on what to watch? Every bedroom in the home offers its own TV as well, so there’s no need to fight over the remote. The gleaming kitchen offers tons of counterspace (including a center island), stainless steel appliances and everything you need to cook during your stay. When dinner is ready, the sturdy dining table is set for six, although a bench along the wall provides additional seating if needed. There are also four bar-height chairs at the adjacent breakfast bar, along with outdoor dining options. A half bath is also located off this space for convenience.

The primary suite on the upper level is furnished with a king bed and features a rolling barn-style door. The en suite bathroom offers double sinks and a large step-in glass and tile shower stall. The remaining four bedrooms are on the lower level, and each provides its own queen bed. The secondary suite has another en suite bathroom with a step-in glass and tile shower stall. Across the hall, the third bedroom is connected to the fourth via a full bathroom with a standard tub/shower combo. The fourth bedroom has direct access to the oceanfront covered porch, as well as a futon for lounging or watching TV. The final bedroom also offers direct porch access, along with an en suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. A laundry room is also located on this level and provides a full-size washer and dryer along with extra storage space.

Outside, the home offers huge porches on each level facing the ocean. The lower porch is fully covered and offers access to the ground level and the beach. A pair of captains chairs provide an excellent spot for watching the waves or family on the beach. The upper level porch has no exterior stairs, so you can relax as toddlers or fur-babies burn off extra energy within this enclosed space. This level is partially covered, offering your choice of shade or sun as well as excellent stargazing. A round Polywood picnic table seats at least eight, and additional captains chairs with bistro tables and a pair of lower Adirondack rockers beckon you to sit and enjoy quiet conversation as you watch the waves with a drink in hand.

Below the home, a classic wooden dining table provides another shady spot for dining alfresco. An enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water is also located here, a favorite amenity among experienced beachgoers. The double paved driveway provides plenty of parking, and an additional vehicle or two can pull under the home.

Situated in easy walking distance of Middleton Park, this prime location offers quick and easy access to Oak Island’s free seasonal splash pad along with an accessible playground, pickleball and basketball courts and more. The outdoor amphitheater hosts regular seasonal concerts, occasional craft shows and the Artisan and Farmer’s Market is a fun experience on Monday mornings from late spring through early fall. Pepperoni Grill is also nearby, and other local restaurants, ice cream shops, grocery stores and entertainment are only a five-minute drive from this gorgeous home.
