The parade showcases the businesses and organizations in our community. The hometown feel of the parade makes it a favorite event of locals, second homeowners and visitors.
The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Town of Oak Island have organized the Christmas By The Sea parade for over 38 years. "The parade is a cherished holiday tradition," said Jackie Pappas, Parade co-chair for the Chamber.
The parade steps off at 2:00p.m. beginning on East Oak Island Drive in front of Town Hall and making it's way eastward, ending at McGlamery Street. As always, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the final float at the end of the parade waving to children and the young at heart as they drive by.

Normal traffic safety rules apply. Spectators (riding only) in cars, trucks or golf carts will be permitted along the parade route.
