The Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, connecting Brunswick and New Hanover counties, is currently under repair, which may cause a delay in your travel time for your vacation. Only one lane is closed at a time, so depending on your visit and the project timeline, you will need to take a detour, which we have provided you in this link.
The estimated project deadline is as follows:
- Eastbound (heading toward Wilmington) lanes close on Jan. 29, 2024.
- Westbound (heading toward Oak Island) lanes close on Apr. 9, 2024.
- Construction is expected to be completed on May 23, 2024.
We encourage all travelers to follow real-time traffic data, which you can do through DriveNC.gov or by using a GPS app, like Waze, on your device.
