OIA Will Resume Check-ins This Week

Post Florence Update – 9/24/18 at 10:15 p.m.
Oak Island Accommodations will resume check-ins this week. All guests who were scheduled to check in between 9/22/18 and 9/30/18 should check their email accounts periodically for updates concerning the condition of their vacation rental (check your junk folder too, as some inboxes will place our messages there).
There continue to be some circumstances on the island that could necessitate a move if situations do not improve by the time of a guest’s arrival. These include:
CASWELL & SOUTHPORT BOIL WATER ADVISORIES – All of the Town of Caswell Beach and Southport remains under a boil water advisory. We are hoping to hear that this has been lifted any day now, but at this time a boil water advisory is still in place and we cannot check in guests in these areas.
OKI SEWER SERVICE ISSUES – As of this morning, there are certain sections of Oak Island that still do not have adequate sewer service. If your vacation rental is located in one of the below areas and sewer service is not resumed by your arrival, our staff will find a comparable rental to move you to:
• SE 57th Street
• Pelican Drive from SE 46th to SE 57th
• E. Beach from SE 52nd to SE 58th (area eastward of beach washout – working to get road restored)
• NW 3rd to NW 13th
• Along West Yacht Dr. between NW 3rd and NW 13th
Thank you for your patience as we work to communicate with our guests and property owners following Hurricane Florence. Florence may have made a mess of our office building, but she did not dampen our spirit.
