We have stayed at Statehouse twice a year for several years. It’s nothing fancy...but it’s clean and close to the beach and pier.

I was invited to stay with some friends for a few days in Oak Island. I had never been or even heard of Oak Island and I was very excited to visit there. This place had everything we needed. Washer and Dryers, dishwasher, 2 bathrooms, although the kitchen was rather small, that was fine. I would most certainly stay at this particular house again. My only complaint was that I kept driving right past the place during the day and night hours. I tried to drive around as much as possible to get myself acclimated to the area, but I could never get the turn just right as not to pass the place right on by. The lady next door, I assume was a permanent visitor, she was very kind and accommodating. The house was very clean. However, I did find the pictures on the wall a bit ominous, you know, the ones of the hurricanes. Nevertheless, Oak Island is a very nice place to be. Very Quiet. In my opinion, Oak Island has the charm that the Outer Banks does not have, and that's what makes your area one of a kind. Thanks again.

Very nice home with reasonable price. Access to the beach was better than I expected (much shorter walk than I thought from looking at the pictures)! Fantastic for the off-season time periods!
