The home offers a spacious floor plan, enough room for more than one family. It also has a great location with easy access to the beach, and so much on and off the island to keep everyone fascinated!
Easy to live in, PELICAN PERCH is conveniently designed so that each side has two bedrooms and a bath. The newly painted bright and airy kitchen, dining area, and living room form the common area in the middle of the house. On either side, the oceanfront bedrooms have king-sized beds. Each of the other two bedrooms has a double bed and a twin bed in them. Guests with children will find the added convenience of a highchair, a standard-sized crib, and a baby gate. Games, puzzles, and wireless internet are available to entertain the young of all ages after dark or during a brief island rain. The cheery, light dining area has a large table with eight chairs for full family use. Newly painted and reupholstered, the attractive living room has comfortable chairs and a sectional sofa--great for afternoon naps, channel-surfing on the TV, or movie-watching on the DVD/VCR combo, reading that long-neglected novel, or whatever. Also, a mini-fridge lies just off the kitchen for everyone's convenience.
Outside on the deck, weary beachcombers have so many places to enjoy! The deck's picnic table makes a fabulous place to set up an oceanfront meal where dining entertainment includes watching boats and pelicans. Afterward, relaxed vacationers can recline in one of the six cozy covered porch rockers as they marvel at the variations in Oak Island's multi-colored sunsets.
Day or night, the covered porch serves many purposes, extending out to a broad sunning deck with a long built-in bench. After a day splashing in the surf, guests also can rinse off salt spray and sand at the convenient hot/cold outside shower.
Just adjacent to the covered front porch and one block west lies Blue Water Point Marina, perfect for boaters or people of any age to watch fisherman return ashore with their deep-sea catch. The marina is also home to a fantastic seafood restaurant with something on the menu to tempt everyone's palette.
