Designed by former Masters Champion Fred Couples, Carolina National Golf Club is a 27-hole signature golf course. The course provides coastal views of the Lockwood Folly River while still incorporating towering pines found at many renound courses through the Carolinas and has been recognized as one of the finest courses along the east coast by Golf Digest.  Carolina National is just a short drive from Oak Island or Southport making it an easy getaway for any tee time.

Designed by a Champion

Fred Couples claimed a Masters Title in 1992 on his way to the top spot in the world rankings. The storied golfer later brought his design talents to the North Carolina coast alongside Gene Bates. The two paired to fashion Carolina National which features 27 championship holes comprised of three nine-hole courses, each with its own distinct characteristics and named for the large native birds that can often be seen during a round- the Egret, the Heron, & the Ibis. The course was designed to accommodate all skill levels, offering now six sets of tees (see The Short Course at Carolina National below for details) and at just over 7,000 yards from the tips, the course is sure to challenge even the accomplished golfer. A truly creative layout with multiple tee placements that considerably change the approach to many holes means the course offers an endless variety of playing experiences with stunning natural beauty along the banks of the Lockwood Folly River.
