General Manager

Joel DeMonbreun is a member of the Brunswick County, North Carolina and National Associations of Realtors. DeMonbreun became a member of OIA’s property management team in March 2008 and rose through the company to become broker-in-charge in August of 2013. He received the Employee of the Month award for August 2012 and now oversees OIA’s real estate agent referral program among his many duties. Long Term Manager

Tom joined OIA in January 2007 as a vacation rental property manager, earning his real estate license in July of that year. In September 2007 he was promoted to long term manager and oversaw the long term program until early 2011. Tom returned to OIA in May 2015 as the long term manager after working as general manager for a vacation rental company in Wrightsville Beach. Prior to joining OIA, Tom had an extensive career in the law enforcement field. After 32 years of public service work and four years of military service he retired as the chief of police on Oak Island.

Jessica Tompkins has a long history with OIA, starting in October of 2000 when she came on board as a guest services representative. Over the years Jessica has served as marketing specialist, guest services director, marketing director and in her current position as assistant director of marketing. She leads the marketing team in the creation of the annual vacation planner, is instrumental in the creation and management of annual owner addendum’s and directs the development for OIA’s website. She received the Employee of the Month Award in April 2012 in part because of her leadership in hosting the annual Homeowners’ Weekend. Kristin Goode joined OIA as a marketing specialist in late June of 2012 after graduating with a bachelor of arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and working as a photojournalist at daily newspapers across the country. She leads the department in the creation of the Beach Times, tackling everything from ad sales to photographing and writing stories for the annual publication. Stephanie Rich

Graphic Designer & Photographer

Though she may go about her work quietly, Stephanie Rich speaks volumes with her creativity. A graphic designer and photographer who began her career with OIA in July 2008, Stephanie is responsible for designing the bulk of all advertisements and publications for OIA. This encompasses everything from the Vacation Planner and Beach Times to newspaper and magazine ads. She also leads the department in photographing OIA’s over 600 rental properties. Stephanie had a love for art at an early age, influenced by her father who enjoyed oil painting. She chose to continue her graphic design education in college where she majored in graphic design at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf/Rochester Institute of Technology.

Matt Parvin began his career at Oak Island Accommodations in 2010 after graduating with a degree in finance and marketing from New York University and working for a local builder. Starting in the marketing department, he has worn many hats at OIA over the years, including marketing director, guest services director and operations manager. He received the Employee of the Month Award for December 2012. Matt became a licensed real estate broker in March 2013.
