Also, for things to do and see, the island has a wide variety of activities (skate boarding, ball fields, fishing areas, kite boarding, observation points, boating to name only a few). Off the island, you will enjoy a visit to the historical maritime village of Southport and also to the major shipping port of Wilmington (Riverwalk area, shopping malls, a wide variety of restaurants, etc.)
