Oak Island Rental Policies: What it takes to rent a house from Oak Island Accommodations

The following Oak Island Rental Policies and the following steps must be taken when looking to rent a home through Oak Island Accommodations:

  1. Take a look at our available rentals; pick the one that suits you best.
    1. If you would like to take a look at a home, please bring your picture ID into the office and we will make a copy of it then give you a key to the home to take a look.
  2. Fill out a rental application/credit check form.
    1. There is a $25 fee that we charge to run your credit. If we have
      any additional reports that we may need to run, you will be responsible for those costs. You may have a copy of that report if you request it.
  3. Once you have been approved to rent from OIA, you must pay your Security Deposit, Pet Fee, and First Months Rent.
    1. The Security Deposit is equal to one months rent.
    2. The Pet Fee is only applicable if the home is approved for pets. Dogs are the most likely approved pet.
    3. If your rental term begins on the 1st then you will owe the full amount of the rental price. If your term begins any other date other than the 1st, you will pay a pro-rated rental price.
  4. Before we can give you the keys to your new home, you must have all utilities with respect to water and electricity (sewer if your home applies) in your name and proof from the proper authority that this has been completed.
  5. You will be expected to make your rental payment NO LATER than the 5th day of the month or a late fee will be attached. If your rent is not
    paid by the 16th of the month, eviction proceedings will be filed.
