Fort Fisher Aquarium

The Fort Fisher Aquarium was established in 1976 and continues to promote awareness, understanding, and education about the aquatic life. The aquarium is full of research programs such as Turtle Trails where you can follow the daily routes of the sea turtle. The aquarium also includes conservation efforts that include animal stranding and rehabilitation, sea turtle rehab and hatchling program, as well as animal release programs.

The Aquarium has many different events through out the day such as; Animal feeding at 3:00, Touch Tanks through out everyday where an educator describes characteristics that make each animal unique. At 11:30 am daily is the creature feature at where you can meet some live animals up close and personal from Whelks, Crabs, Turtles, and Alligators. Have a conversation with the divers while they are hard at work; they can answer any and all of your questions everyday at 10:30am and 2:30pm. Join the aquarium at Ocean Odyssey where you can discover fascinating facts about the wonderful water world. During Ocean Odyssey you can touch a turtle or test your knowledge about the ocean world everyday at 1:30pm. At the aquarium a smart cart connection is where educators and aquarium volunteers share information on a variety of sea world topics. The cart is stocked with shells, activities, and sometimes even live animals, these activities are conducted throughout the day.

Host an event at the aquarium anything from a wedding to a birthday party. You can rent the whole aquarium, the auditorium, exotic aquatics gallery, or the deck and garden area. Take your Family to the Fort Fisher Aquarium, have your picture taken as a family with a fun fish frame, or go to the gift shop for unique post cards, books, or activities. Take the kids to the Shark Bites snack bar and enjoy the out doors and a variety of drinks and food; daily selections from March through September and on weekends during October and November. The Fort Fisher Aquarium is open all year from 9am to 5pm. In the summer, family night is held every Thursday from 9am to 9pm.

Seniors $7:00
Children between the ages of 6 and 17 years old: $6:00
Any children age 5 and younger are free.
