"I Walk For a Cause to Save Babies" was the slogan for Oak Island Accommodations as they walked 3.1 miles, Oak Island Accommodations sponsored a team of 9 employees and 4 young people to walk in the "March for Babies" the March of Dimes' Premier fundraising event. More...

Second Oak Island Bridge Work Resumes

Work on the second bridge resumes this week with new plans in hand and specifications for how temporary braces will be built and used. The girders were inspected and are safe to use. When all girders are in place, crews will start building the decks, or riding surfaces, on location. More...

New Oak Island Pier

The pier formerly known as Yaupon Pier has plans to open next week. The Town of Oak Island doesn't own the pier yet and the finance plan has been put on hold, but the leaseholder Tommy Thomes has been preparing for the pier to be open. More...
