Monday, March 19, 2007- An Inside Look: Friends of Oak Island Lighthouse offer tours! Lighthouse lovers take note: Visitors will soon be able to peek inside a landmark previously closed to the public. By appointment, visitors can climb to the balcony gallery level just below where the lights are housed. The steep climb, more than 100 steps gets you an expansive view.

To make an appointment, please call 278-1328. Tours will be given on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
